In 2018, the STLA/Dr. Joyce Kimble Scholarship was expanded to include two qualifying students.
One of our award winners for this year is Kacie Ging, who is in her junior year at Sam Houston State University. Kacie is already a very accomplished photographer and is working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications, with graduation planned for 2020.
After completion of her under-graduate degree, she plans to enter the Master’s Program for Journalism at either The University of Texas at Austin or at Texas A&M University. Listed among her goals is to also earn an internship with National Geographic to be able to enhance her photography skills and talents.
Kacie was also one of our Youth Scholarship Program recipients in 2016.
