This young lady has a gift for always bringing out the best in others. Recognized by younger students and adults alike, Clarice Francis was named a co-winner of the STLA /Nathaniel Faske Mentorship Award for 2021.
She is an experienced and accomplished senior showman and can easily be counted on to standout in the showring and take home top honors for her animals or garner her own showmanship awards. Clarice enjoys coaching the younger students who are just starting to exhibit on the show circuit and has also been involved in teaching at various showmanship clinics to help instruct showmen of all ages.
She was a 2021 graduate of Angleton High School and, at the time of this award, was starting her freshman year at Texas A&M University in College Station. She plans to pursue a degree in Animal Science which will enable her to develop a career in ranch management in the coming few years.
For 2021, Clarice was also honored to be named as a recipient of the STLA / Central Life Sciences “Kids & Horns” Scholarship for her continued participation in numerous youth shows during her high-school years.

Another accomplished showman, this young lady volunteers to serve as a ring steward at various STLA shows and is well-recognized for setting high expectations for those exhibitors in the showring and providing a strong and directive presence to ensure that the shows running smoothly.
Recognized by show judges and her peers for her skills, she enjoys teaching the younger showmen about proper protocols in the ring, correct skills while handling animals, and overall poise to be shown when in front of the judge. She is always a calm, efficient, and confident guide to the youngsters as they exhibit their cattle and sets an example for strong showmanship abilities.
Savana was a 2020 graduate of Thorndale High School and, as she completed her high-school years, was honored by STLA as a recipient of both Youth Scholarship awards in 2020: The STLA/ Lonesome Pines Ranch “Breeders of Tomorrow” Scholarship and the STLA/ Central Life Sciences “Kids & Horns” Scholarship.
At the time of this award, Savana is a sophomore at Austin Community College where she is enrolled in the Health Sciences Program and working to become a radiology technician.
